Joy Meadows

Joy Meadows hosts a farm day every second Saturday for foster and adoptive families, and I'm honored they let me be part of it. It's a free event built to give these families a few hours of relief, and what I kept coming back to in my camera was the kids just getting to be kids. No weight, no uncertainty, just a barrel train to ride and an animal to pet and a meal someone else cooked. For children who have carried more than they should have to, a day like that matters more than it might look like from the outside.
